About LCIP
The Lobito Corridor is often described as a railway. In practice, it will only work if the projects around it are planned as one system.
LCIP operates where corridor finance meets public affairs.
A refinery cannot stand on its own if it lacks reliable power, road and rail access, storage or a route to market. The same applies to mines, logistics hubs and industrial sites.
LCIP looks at those dependencies together. We identify missing links, help structure complementary projects, and support engagement between investors, institutions and public authorities across Angola, the DRC and Zambia.
A Lobito Corridor financed and developed as an economic system, not a collection of isolated assets.
LCIP’s vision is for corridor finance to become central to how infrastructure and industry are developed across Angola, the DRC and Zambia. Railways, ports, power, industrial facilities and trade infrastructure should be planned and financed around the economic relationships that make each asset viable.
A railway needs industries and exporters. A refinery needs reliable roads, pipelines, power, storage and customers. By strengthening investment through connected clusters, the Lobito Corridor can become more than an export route: a platform for industrial growth, regional trade and value chains that do not end at extraction.
LCIP’s mission is to bring corridor finance to the foreground of African infrastructure investment.
We identify the projects, supporting assets and commercial relationships that need to work together for an investment to succeed. Rather than treating each opportunity in isolation, LCIP helps organise rail, port, power, logistics and industrial projects into coherent investment clusters.
We prepare credible opportunities, clarify their dependencies and help align project sponsors, investors, companies and public institutions around a wider corridor strategy. The aim is to move capital toward connected systems that are more bankable, more resilient and better able to generate lasting regional value.
